fran3000 Deep, reverb filled tones invoking forgotten architectural spaces, or perhaps architectural spaces that have yet to happen, slowly and grandly permeate throughout Sandskimma. In these eight tracks, Mr. Pylon steers sonic travels from Zen like atmospheres to darker hued side-quests imbued with tremulous swathes of drones, creating rich, ethereal soundscapes for which worlds are summoned and held in repose in these architectural spaces invoked. Favorite track: It's not a cathedral, it's a damn mirage.

DJ SpaceTerrapin This is like a slow turning crystal in a flickering, unreliable light, giving off reflections that are incalculable. Impossible to know what will happen while you listen. Favorite track: Ghost on the shore.

about

Moving into the next realm of the dystopian near future nightmare of his sell-out debut for Subexotic ‘This Crow Wears A Wire’, Dogs Versus Shadows second album ‘Sandskimma’ is scorched with the sound of moody modular synths and gauzy
soundscapes as dark as the desert at night.

Conceived following a dream about locating crashed military intelligence drones, ‘Sandskimma’ took shape quickly. The sounds were based around the concept of the desert as a battleground. Smoke billows across the horizon, the war rages on but is never really won.

Inspired by the harsh military-inspired industrial electronica of Vatican Shadow, the cinematic sonics of worriedaboutsatan and the experimental post-rock of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Dogs Versus Shadows has created a richly immersive listening experience that will reward repeat listens.
